Aspiravi Energy goes all the way for local, renewable energy sources, such as wind, sun and biomass. This enables it not only to benefit the environment, but also to create jobs in the local economy.

However, Aspiravi Energy goes further than that: it also links a social purpose to its offer. Each customer of Aspiravi Energy automatically supports a local social project. For each megawatt hour consumed, Aspiravi Energy donates an amount to a charitable organisation aiming to combat energy and child poverty. Aspiravi Energy has already invested €104,875 into local, social projects since it was founded in 2015.

Citizen-cooperants holding a minimum of 4 shares can purchase locally generated green electricity via Aspiravi Energy. They are also able to sell their surplus green electricity (e.g. produced through solar panels) back to Aspiravi Energy, which is then fed back into the grid.

Local residents living near our wind energy projects have the opportunity to co-invest through Aspiravi Samen CV and Limburg Wind CV by purchasing up to 26 shares, or through Wind voor “A” CV up to 24 shares. The price per share was kept low: € 125.

The co-operative society's communication continually reminds the citizen of the element of risk. This is discussed in a comprehensive information note. At the CVs' annual General Assemblies, to which all citizen co-operants are invited, a report is given on the CV's operations, the annual accounts are approved and all citizen co-operants present decide upon the annual dividend.

The co-operative societies operate independently of Aspiravi NV and Limburg win(d)t NV and have a Board of Directors including representatives of citizen co-operants. The administrative and financial management is carried out by Hefboom VZW.
